Ropes Rescue

Description

The LCSAR High Angle Rope Rescue team is led by William Patrick, who is a retired U.S. Air Force cyber officer with experience in Combat Search and Rescue operations.  He is certified as a Tower Climber and Rescue Technician and worked professionally as a Lead Tower Climber in the telecommunications industry.  His certifications also include Wilderness First Aid and Swiftwater Rescue Technician. 

Horse Team

Description

Josh Senecal is team lead for Lake County SAR's Horse Team.  He is a 5th generation Montana rancher.
Josh has 27 years of experience of wilderness horse packing into the back country.  Josh is certified in wilderness first aid.

Boats

Description


Stephen D Bowman is the SAR boat team lead.  He is a retired U.S. Border Patrol Agent and veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard search and rescue corps.  Before retirement Steve was highly involved  with the USBP Riverine Program as a supervisor, vessel commander, instructor, and a marine standards examiner.

Incident Command

Description

Tom Curtis leads the LCSAR incident Command Team.  Tom is a retired Fire Department Company Officer from Renton Washington.  He started his fire department career in 1990. Tom has education and experience in emergency medicine (EMT), rope rescue, water rescue, structural firefighting, HazMat (technician) and Incident Command. He has a Masters Degree in Education, a certification as a Fire Service instruction and Blue Card in Incident Command.  He joined LCSAR in 2020 and has completed Basic SAR training and Advanced Search Manager Training.

Swiftwater

Description

Earle Davis is Team Lead for SAR’s swiftwater rescue team.  Earle has a passion for everything Montana outdoors including rafting, kayaking, hiking, fishing and hunting. Like all swiftwater team members, Earle has completed the Whitewater Rescue Institute’s Swiftwater Rescue Technician training as well as the whitewater rowing course provided by our local Flathead Raft Co.

Earle is also a field supervisor for the city public works department.

Tracking

Description


Mark Culp is the team lead for Lake County SAR tracking team.  Mark has been a SAR volunteer since 2011.  He is a Journeyman Level tracker with Joel Hardin Professional Tracking  Services (JHPTS).  Mark is also a certified tracking instructor for JHPTS and often times called upon to teach tracking classes in other states for law enforcement and SAR organizations. Mark is also a certified EMT and a CPR instructor.

Frankie Brown a life long resident of Lake County since 1982. Has been a Lake County Search & Rescue volunteer since 2005.

What happens now, the process...

Print the application and bring it by a SAR meeting Thursdays at 7:00pm.  Meet some of the team members and see our facilities and equipment. 

A $10.00 application fee is required to cover the cost of the background investigation by Lake County Sheriff’s Office. 

Once your application and fee are submitted you may start attending regular meetings and trainings; however only team members are permitted on mission call outs. 
Once your background investigation is cleared; you will be invited to a formal interview with the SAR board of directors. 

Completion of the background and interview is only the beginning for new SAR members.  The more you participate in meetings and trainings, the more you will learn the greater benefit you will be to the team, Lake County, and the State of Montana. 

Bring your unique skills or let SAR train you for general membership and one or more of our specialty teams.
