Mentorship:
1. Mentors will be assigned to prospective new people as they show interest in SAR.
2. Mentors will be active members with good familiarity with skills and functions of the teams and be assigned by the Training Committee.
3. The new member check sheet will detail the specific skills and knowledge. The mentor is not expected to be an expert in all the different functions of SAR. Any active member can sign off tasks and in many cases it will be better to hand off the new member to a subject expert.
4. Mentors will be responsible to contact new members and keep them informed of meetings and trainings. Active911 texts can be taken as a screen shot and forwarded to the new member.
5. When a new member has completed the task sheet; recognition will be given at a monthly meeting.

Print the application and bring it by a SAR meeting Thursdays at 7:00pm. Meet some of the team members and see our facilities and equipment.
You will need to pay a $10.00 application fee. This fee is used to cover the background investigation conducted by Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Once your application and fee are submitted you may start attending regular meetings and trainings; however only team members are permitted on mission call outs.
Once your background investigation is cleared; you will be invited to a formal interview with the SAR board of directors.
Completion of the background and interview is only the beginning for new SAR members. The more you participate in meetings and trainings, the more you will learn the greater benefit you will be to the team, Lake County, and the State of Montana.
Bring your unique skills or let SAR train you for general membership and one or more of our specialty teams.
